BAYER

Xarelto® app

Xarelto, one of Bayer Pharmaceuticals’ cardiovascular therapy arms, had various internal publications regularly dropping into users’ email inboxes: this often contained important and timely information, but they had no idea how, when or if it was being consumed… and the audience was suffering from over-communication.

Identifying this as a problem, the Xarelto communications team commissioned the Surgery to develop a comms app that had analytics built in, and which could use push notifications on selected articles to encourage users to read the most important information.

Leveraging Bayer’s existing IT resources – based around Microsoft’s Sharepoint and Azure, with video streamed from their Qumu servers – the app enables the comms team to better understand the effectiveness of their communications.

A second version of the app for Eylea, a Bayer eye therapy, is under development, with further therapy arms looking to join the programme.
